D) Climate change is already catastrophic, will get much worse, it cannot be adapted to, and the forces behind preventing any kind of meaningful change in fossil fuel consumption are incalculable. Like always the Republicans are leading the way getting corporate sponsorship for undermining legislation aimed at stopping climate change, and most other protections for marginalized people. Regardless of how it affects the U.S. directly, black, brown, and/or Muslim people will be climate refugees knocking on the West’s door. If the U.S. is tripping about Latino refugees entering the country, they will absolutely blow its collective gasket about South Asian and African climate refugees. This highlights the grim reality on our horizon, as well the racist impact of climate change.
